On February 18, 2026, the United States Postal Service held the first-day ceremony for the Bruce Lee stamp at the Nippon Kan Theater in Seattle, Washington. The main design features Bruce Lee in his iconic flying kick pose, rendered in black-and-white realistic painting. The background incorporates yellow calligraphic brushstrokes, paying tribute to the signature yellow jumpsuit from his unfinished film Game of Death. The artwork was created using traditional egg tempera on a gesso base.
Bruce Lee (1940–1973) was a Chinese-American martial artist, actor, and philosopher. As Hollywood's first Asian-American leading man, he helped popularize kung fu culture worldwide. He died in Hong Kong in 1973 at the age of 32 and is buried at Lake View Cemetery in Seattle.
The first-day cover was prepared by philatelist Lu You. It uses a plain white envelope, affixed with two 78¢ stamps, plus an additional 14¢ to make up the postage, totaling $1.70, which covered the airmail letter rate to China. The stamps were canceled with a black commemorative first-day cancel, the additional postage was canceled with a Seattle first-day of issue circular date stamp, and the cover was delivered on May 19.
